African Container of the BAKONGO tribe from D.R. Congo.


These containers were used for storage of magical substances or herbes used for medicine.The large and heavy bowl is on the head of an ancestor who guards and protects the goods in the container.


Nice patina and decorated with tribal figurations. The figure is painted with white kaolin.


Good condition, but with signs of use. Possible some age related cracks in the wood. Please study the photos well.
