Beautiful stylized NGIL mask of the FANG tribe from Gabon with 4 faces.

The ngil (gorilla) masks were worn by members of a male society of the same name during the initiation of new members and the persecution of wrong-doers.

A large mask with a very nice white patina. This mask has 4 faces and 1 wide mouth.

The heart shape in the faces, the 4 prominent noses, the high forehead and the puckered mouth are typical features of these masks.

Overall good condition. With some wear and tear. Chip on the back of the mask. Take a good look at the pictures.
