Very fine large YORUBA stool presenting a female fertility figure sitting on her knees, holding up the seat with her hands and head. This stool is covered with copper and brass plates. Copper and brass are in the Yoruba community highly valuble. Therefor this is an important stool. Very fine work on the seat of the stool as well.

Such stools were reserved forkings, chiefs and spirit mediums and fostered the fertility of humans, land and nature in general.

Good condition, but this tabouret can show some usual wear and tear, with several tribal reparations see pictures.
