African Bwami initiation Figure with 2 heads from the LEGA tribe from Congo.

The life of the Lega (Warega) is regulated through the Bwami, to which both men and women belong. There are seven levels for men and four levels for women. These Figures were used for initiation to the first two levels of the Bwami society.

This statue has beautiful tribal figurations and all over the body. Very nice brown patina. Real hair on the head and a goatee. Good condition, traces of use, crack on the back.
